Stop driving in circles. Knock off on time.
Your day's jobs, auto-sequenced into the shortest run before you've had your first coffee.
By Daniel Hall · Automation builder at Made 4 Tradies
Most run sheets are just jobs in the order they were booked, which sends the ute zig-zagging back and forth across the suburb all day. This automation re-orders the day for you. Each morning it looks at every job on the calendar, works out the most efficient route between them, and pushes a ready-to-go run sheet to the tech's phone, with drive times and distances between each stop already worked out. The tech just follows the list. Operators report it saves each tech one to two hours of windshield time a day. Windshield time is dead time: you're not earning while you're stuck driving between two jobs you could have done back-to-back. Win that hour back and it's either one more job in the day or actually finishing on time. The example shows a Coogee electrician's Tuesday: four jobs across the eastern beaches re-sequenced from 41 km down to 22 km of driving.

Same four jobs in calendar order ran 41 km. The morning re-sequenced them to cut the drive.
Windshield time, the old way
Jobs run in the order they were booked. The day zig-zags across the suburb and the ute clocks up dead kilometres between every stop.
Time back per tech, per day
1–2 hours
Reported — operators say re-sequencing the day saves each tech this much windshield time. Your real number depends on how spread out your jobs are.
What that buys you
An extra hour back is one more job squeezed in, or knocking off on time for once. Across four techs that's a half-day of billable work you're currently spending behind the wheel.
How it works
Trigger → actions → outcome
- 1
Trigger
At 6am the system pulls every confirmed job on the day's calendar across all your techs.
- 2
Action 1
It calculates the most efficient order to visit them, factoring in each job's time window and location.
- 3
Action 2
A finished run sheet lands on each tech's phone with stops numbered and drive time and distance shown between them.
- 4
Action 3
If a job is cancelled or a new emergency drops in, the run sheet re-sequences and the tech gets the updated order.
- 5
Outcome
The tech follows the list instead of guessing, the ute clocks fewer dead kilometres, and the day finishes sooner.
